Crown Soccer Celebrates Its 2013 Season

Congratulations to the Crown Soccer program for a successful spring 2013 season. Among the accomplishments:
- The High School Ladies team finished with a record of 12-3-0 and placed another two players in college soccer programs.
- The High School Men’s Maroon team finished with a 12-2-1 record, including wins over top teams.
- The High School Men’s Navy team finished as Independence Cup JV Champions and had a 6-4-1 season record.
- The Middle School team went 10-2-1 and won the 2013 NAML Championship.

Crown Navy Wins Independence Cup
Sunday, April 28th, 2013
Congratulations to the Crown High School Boys Navy team for winning the JV division of the Independence Cup held April 26-27 in Sumter, SC. Crown Navy went undefeated with 1-0, 5-0, and 7-0 wins over area teams.

The Crown High School Boys Maroon and High School Girls teams also played in the Varsity divisions, with strong results. Overall, Crown Soccer teams had a 7-2-0 tournament record and a 30-11 goal differential.

Game Notes:
- Arrive at the field at least 30 minutes prior to game time.
- Always let the coaches know (1-2 weeks in advance) if you are going to have to miss a game.
- Home Uniform: White Jersey, Navy Shorts, White Socks.
- Away Uniform: Maroon Jersey, Maroon Shorts, White Socks.
- Always bring both jerseys to games just in case.

- HS Boys Maroon: 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm
- MS: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
- HS Girls: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
- HS Boys Navy: 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm
- Tuesdays and Thursdays:
- MS: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
- HS Girls: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
- HS Boys: 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm
Unless otherwise stated, all sessions will be held at Kenney Askew Park, 1080 Univeter Road, Canton, GA 30115.
College Signings for 2012 Crown Graduates

Crown soccer congratulates its 2012 graduates who will play college soccer next year.
Matthew Ellis
 Matthew Ellis, Reinhardt Eagles #20
Matthew Ellis, starting midfielder for the Crown High School Varsity Men’s Soccer team, has signed to play for the Reinhardt University Eagles starting this fall.
This season, Matt help lead the Crown Varsity Knights to a 15-5-1 record with his 14 goals and 9 assists.
Reinhardt Head Coach Dan Farnham welcomed Matt to the team: “We have a strong 2012 recruiting class… Walker Chastain, Matt Ellis and Jason Walker all add depth to the midfield as incoming freshmen.” For details, see the story on the Reinhardt University web site.
Matt is the son of David and Pam Ellis of Alpharetta.
Nicole Cooprider
 Nicole Cooprider signs with Darton College
Nicole Cooprider, starting midfielder for the Crown Varsity Ladies Soccer team has signed a Letter of Intent to play for the Darton College Cavaliers.
With 5 goals and 4 assists, Nicole helped lead the Ladies team through a successful season and a 15-6-1 record.
Nicole is the daughter of Scott and Roxanna Cooprider of Kennesaw.
Nikole Brand
Nikole Brand will play soccer for Belmont Abbey College in Charlotte, NC starting this fall. For details, see: http://abbeyathletics.com/article.asp?articleID=2764.
Nikole is a versatile player who is a strong defender and midfielder. Her three goals in key games this season helped ensure the Crown Varsity Ladies’ success.
Nikole is the daughter of Roger and Martha Brand of Marietta. She will be majoring in Biology/Pre-Med.

Congratulations to all four Crown Soccer teams for a great spring 2012 season! Among the accomplishments:
- The High School Ladies team finished with a record of 15-6-1, and sent two more of its players into college soccer programs.
- The High School Men’s team finished with a 15-5-1 record, including big wins and strong showings against some highly competitive teams.
- The JV Men’s team faced some tough competition in the U19 league, but played strong and continued to develop as a team.
- The Middle School team went 6-5-1 after initial games, and ended with a third place NAML finish.

Miki Cain Signs with Emmanuel College

 Miki Cain Signs with Emmanuel College
Mychael (Miki) Cain, a veteran of the Crown High School Ladies Soccer team, has signed to play for the Emmanuel College women’s soccer team starting this fall.
Last season, Miki help lead the Crown Soccer Ladies team to a 20-3-1 record and a second place finish at the NCHC Nationals.
Emmanuel College Head Coach Forrest Wimberly welcomed Miki to the team: “Our 2012 recruiting class is really taking shape and I’m very happy with the players who’ll be joining our program. Miki is a tough, no-nonsense defender who plays well with the ball at her feet. Miki fits in really well with our soccer plans.”

Miki joins other Crown Soccer alumni now playing college soccer. Recently, Reinhardt University freshman Alex Mahan helped her team win the AAC Championship and advance to the NAIA Nationals. And Miki’s older sister Lauren enjoyed another successful season as a Brenau University midfielder, receiving 2011-2012 SSAC All-Academic Team honors.

 Alex Mahan of the 2011 Reinhardt Recruiting Class
Alex Mahan of the Crown High School Ladies Soccer team has signed a letter of intent to play soccer for the Reinhardt University Eagles starting this fall.
This year, Alex guided the Crown Soccer Ladies team to a successful 20-3-1 season and a second place finish at NCHC Nationals. She led the team with 33 goals and 29 assists while also serving as the team’s student trainer.

Alex joins four other Georgia players in a strong 2011 Reinhardt recruiting class.
Tenth-year Reinhardt head coach Andy Kaplan explains, “This is a very important recruiting class for our program… This current group of recruits has the ability to step in immediately and strengthen those areas the departed seniors occupied. I am confident that all of these recruits will contribute to a successful season this year.”

Alex continues a strong college tradition for Crown Soccer alumni. Last year, Lauren Cain joined the Brenau Soccer women’s team where she now plays midfielder.
Crown Soccer Enjoys a Successful Spring 2011 Season

Congratulations to all three Crown Soccer teams for a highly successful spring 2011 season! Here are our results:
- The High School Ladies team finished with a record of 20-3-1, including winning the Crusader Classic, and some big wins at the NCHC Nationals.
- The High School Men’s team finished with a record of 20-3-1, with a 105 positive goal differential.
- The Middle School team finished as NAML Coed Champions with a 7-5 record.
